What is the COP 30?
The COP 30 [Conference of the Parties (COP) 30] is the body responsable for organization and directing the measures to be taken by countries in the fight against climate change, what is known as “COP” are the annual climate change summits, which usually take place in November or December.
In the COP 30 there are discuss, actions to combat the climate change which is a global inssue and all your consequences.
Who participates in COP 30?
All the contries who have signed and ratified the Convention, actually comprising 198 countries along all the world. World leaders, scientists, non-governmental organizations, and representatives of civil society.
Also, the Green Zone, is the space where civil society, public and private institutions, and global leaders connect dialogue, innovation, and sustainable investment, the Green Zone is located in the City Park
Where and when the COP 30 happens in Brazil?
The COP 30 is going to happen in the city of Belém, in the state of Pará in november in the days 10th to the 21st of 2025.
According to the president of Brazil, the fact that the discussions for the COP 30 are going to happen in the Amazonia is essencial because will be discuss the indigenous issue, looking at the indigenous peoples. Will be discussed the issue of riverine peoples, looking at the riverine peoples and seeing how they live
Why the COP 30 is so important?
Actually, the world is living the global warning, and temperatures around the world have been rising too fast and this afects extinction of animal and plant species, changes in rainfall frequency and intensity (affecting agriculture, for example), sea level rise, and intensification of meteorological phenomena (e.g., severe storms, floods, windstorms, heat waves, prolonged droughts). The global warning destroys and causes imbalance throughout the ecosystem, leading some animal species to extinction, and affecting people’s lives in all the world

The Green Zone, which is located in the City Park, is the space where civil society, public and private institutions, and global leaders connect dialogue, innovation, and sustainable investment.
It brings the climate agenda closer to people’s lives, focusing is to make the debate more accessible and inclusive, reinforcing the implementation of climate actions and strengthening the COP Presidency’s call for a Global Climate Action Alliance.
It has free access to the public,and the space aims to promote democratic engagement, plurality of voices, and transparency in the climate debate, complementing the work of the Blue Zone.
What is the Blue Zone?
The Blue Zone is the place where the official negotiations happen, from the Leaders’ Summit and national pavilions. The Blue Zone is organized by United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) where only official delegations, heads of state, observers, and accredited press are allowed.
The Blue Zone happens in the City Park.It will allow countries, accredited organizations, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to engage in dialogue and present their projects, strategies, and solutions for the climate agenda
