The Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) in New Zealand is conducting workshops to train individuals in managing animal welfare during civil defence emergencies. Partnering with the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW), MPI aims to enhance skills and capacity among councils, government agencies, zoos, and iwi organizations. These workshops will cover setting up temporary animal shelters and preventing the spread of injuries and diseases.
